How was NATO founded?

After World War II, the US and European countries formed a military alliance, known as NATO, to stop the Soviet Union.
After the Second World War, the Soviet Union and the United States emerged as the two biggest powers that wanted to dominate the world. Due to this, relations between the US and the Soviet Union started deteriorating and the Cold War started between them.
The communist government of the Soviet Union wanted to establish its supremacy over the weakened European countries after the Second World War.

The plan of the Soviet Union was to dominate Turkey and Greece. By controlling Turkey and Greece, the Soviet Union wanted to control the world’s trade through the Black Sea.
Due to these policies of the Soviet Union, its relations with Western countries and America were completely spoiled.
Eventually, to prevent the Soviet Union’s dominance in Europe, European countries and America together laid the foundation of NATO.
